About The Event
Based on the true story of the 1968 Ford sewing machinists’ strike, Made in Dagenham follows Rita O’Grady, an ordinary working mother who becomes an unlikely leader.
When the women at Ford’s Dagenham factory are reclassified as “unskilled workers”, Rita risks her marriage and friendships to lead them out on strike. What begins as a local dispute becomes a fight for equality that captures national attention and ultimately helps pave the way for equal pay in the UK.
Funny, warm and full of heart, Made in Dagenham is a story about ordinary people finding extraordinary courage. Expect big musical numbers, plenty of laughs and a powerful true story that remains just as relevant today.
